El Salvador is preparing for one of its strongest tourist seasons in recent years. According to data from the Ministerio de Turismo, the country’s hotels and restaurants are already registering advance reservations, predicting full occupancy during the months of november and december. This trend is reflected in concrete figures: for November alone, large-capacity hotels reported 90% occupancy, both in rooms and event spaces.
In october, the national average is already 60% occupied in city and beach hotels, and on weekends, the usage level reaches 90%. The influx of travelers has been driven primarily by visitors from the region.
During the recent Morazan week, for example, the number of Honduran tourists increased by 26% compared to the same period last year, consolidating El Salvador as an attractive destination for Central American tourism. The trend points to an even greater rebound in the coming weeks.

The country will host three international surfing events, an Inter-American Development Bank forum, and three Bitcoin-related conferences. Additionally, an aviation event will be held in December, bringing together airlines from around the world, which promises to further boost tourism services.

These activities will strengthen progress toward the goal set by the Salvadoran government: reaching four million visitors by the end of 2025. As of september, the Ministerio de Turismo had already recorded US$3.9 million from international tourists, and at the beginning of october, El Salvador welcomed its three millionth visitor. With the end-of-year holidays ahead, the end of 2025 is shaping up to bring historic numbers and a positive impact on the national economy.
