During 2025, the Comisión Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma (CEPA) consolidated a year of intense activity at El Salvador International Airport, with actions aimed at improving air connectivity, expanding operational capacity, and facilitating the movement of passengers and trade. The results reflect sustained progress in the modernization of the country’s main point of entry and exit.
One of the main achievements of the year was the strengthening of international connectivity. Traveling from El Salvador became more accessible thanks to air connections with 13 countries and 34 cities, which expanded options for tourists, salvadorans abroad, and business travelers. This network of destinations positions the airport as a strategic point in the region and facilitates the country’s integration with key markets.

In terms of operations, CEPA reported that in 2025 the airport served 24 airlines authorized to operate international passenger, cargo, and mail flights. This diversity of companies allows for a greater range of routes and frequencies, as well as strengthening foreign trade through the air transport of goods.
The institution also implemented measures to expand its capacity to serve users. As part of these improvements, the airport now has 122 check-in points for passengers, which has helped to streamline processes, reduce waiting times, and improve the experience of those passing through the airport, especially during peak seasons.
In terms of travel trends, CEPA reported that during the year, the most visited cities from El Salvador were Los Angeles, Houston, and Washington, D.C., destinations that are in high demand for family, work, business, and tourism reasons. These flows reflect the importance of air connectivity with the United States and the dynamism of passenger traffic.

In addition to direct service to travelers, CEPA highlighted the airport’s role as an engine of trade. While some flights connect people, others facilitate the transport of cargo and mail, contributing to trade and economic growth in the country.
With these actions, CEPA closed 2025 with a balance sheet focused on efficiency, connectivity, and service. The institution plans to continue expanding its capabilities and services, with the goal of going further in 2026 and continuing to position El Salvador International Airport as a key platform for national development and international integration.
