The Defensoría del Consumidor (DC) informed the salvadoran public about two international safety alerts related to household products that have been voluntarily recalled in the United States due to risks that could cause serious injury, electrocution, or falls.
One of the alerts concerns Hezi brand power strips, manufactured by Hezi Home. According to the Comisión de Seguridad de Productos de Consumo de Estados Unidos (CPSC), these devices have a design defect: they have a metal casing without a ground connection, which can cause the structure to become energized and result in electrocution, with potentially fatal consequences.
The recalled power strips can be identified by their gray or yellow metal casing with eight black plastic outlets. They also include a power switch and a circuit breaker located near the power cord. Approximately 1,320 units were distributed in the US market between may 2024 and october 2025. To date, no incidents related to its use have been reported.

The second alert concerns Adirondack-style patio chairs, sold under the Adam RealComfort and StyleWell brands, manufactured by Adams Manufacturing Corp. According to the CPSC, these chairs can crack and collapse during use, posing a significant risk of falls and injuries to consumers.
The recalled chairs are made of resin, with a slatted design on the back and seat, and were sold in various colors, including blue, dark gray, navy, lime green, and teal. For identification, authorities indicated that the code ML837-15 and the manufacturing date of august 2025 are molded into the underside of the product. Approximately 6,100 units were sold in the United States between august and october 2025, with no reported injuries to date.

As part of its preventative work, the Defensoría del Consumidorhas requested information from local suppliers to determine if these products have been marketed in the country, how many people may have purchased them, and what actions will be taken to remove them from the market, as well as the consumer assistance mechanisms.
The institution recommended that anyone who owns any of these products immediately stop using them, especially patio chairs, to prevent accidents. It also reiterated that any questions, reports, or complaints related to these alerts can be made by calling 910 or via WhatsApp at 7844-1482, channels available to provide guidance and support to the public.
