
Authorities from Honduras and El Salvador held a high-level meeting to strengthen bilateral relations and advance strategic issues related to investment, trade, and technical cooperation.
The meeting was led by the Undersecretary of Cooperation and International Promotion of the Honduran Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cindy Rodríguez Bautista, who received the Salvadoran Ambassador to Honduras, Jorge Alberto Umaña. The diplomat was accompanied by Minister Counselor Dafne Villatoro.
During the meeting, both delegations agreed on the importance of maintaining ongoing dialogue to deepen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two neighboring countries, which share historical, commercial, and cultural ties.
Boosting bilateral investment and trade

One of the main points addressed was the interest in increasing investment between Honduras and El Salvador. Authorities emphasized the need to create conditions that facilitate trade and attract capital, to boost the economies of both countries.
In this context, the initiative to create a Cámara de Comercio Bilateral Honduras–El Salvador,was analyzed. This chamber is conceived as a platform to strengthen collaboration among businesspeople, promote strategic alliances, and facilitate new business opportunities.
Technical Cooperation and Sanitary Regulation
The agenda also included strengthening technical cooperation exchanges in key areas for economic and social development. Specific topics mentioned included support in sanitary regulation, a fundamental aspect for streamlining trade in goods, especially in sectors such as food, agricultural products, and manufactured goods.

They also discussed promoting a new framework for bilateral cooperation to update joint working mechanisms and consolidate a more structured, long-term collaborative agenda.
Mutually beneficial approach
Undersecretary Bautista expressed her gratitude for the salvadoran government’s willingness to continue working in a coordinated manner and reiterated Honduras’s commitment to moving forward with a mutually beneficial approach.
With this rapprochement, both nations seek to strengthen their diplomatic and economic relationship, promoting initiatives that contribute to regional growth and Central American integration.
