Impact on the economy

The increase in tourist arrivals has direct and indirect effects on the national economy. In addition to generating income from the consumption of goods and services, tourism boosts employment in both formal and informal sectors, encourages investment, and strengthens the country’s image as an international destination.
El Salvador’s position as a regional leader and third worldwide reinforces its presence on the global tourism map and consolidates a trend of sustained growth in the sector through 2025.
