The reopening of the Pipiris Nais restaurant, located in the Historic Center of San Salvador, will generate more than 80 direct and indirect jobs, in addition to boosting a network of approximately 45 suppliers, representing new economic opportunities for dozens of salvadoran families connected to the food service industry.
The establishment features a refreshed look and enhanced amenities for its customers, marking a new phase of growth for this 100% salvadoran-owned business, which has contributed to the commercial development of the Historic Center since its opening.
During the reopening ceremony, Adriana Larín, director of the Historic Center Authority of San Salvador, emphasized that the restaurant’s economic impact extends beyond direct employment, as it also benefits a broad network of suppliers who provide products and services to the business.
“The job creation generated by this restaurant is significant. We’re talking about more than 80 direct and indirect jobs and a network of approximately 45 suppliers, who also represent families that receive a livelihood thanks to a business with Salvadoran capital. That is extremely important for local development”, the official stated.
A business that bet on the Historic Center

Pipiris Nais began operations in 2020, when the Historic Center had not yet reached the level of commercial and tourist activity it currently enjoys. At that time, investing in the area represented a challenge for many entrepreneurs.
Larín said that the restaurant is an example of business resilience, as it recognized the area’s potential from the early stages of the urban transformation process.
“Pipiris Nais represents resilience. They believed in the Historic Center when many didn’t, and they trusted in the vision for transformation. Today we see a place full of visitors and a team that continues to grow”, she emphasized.
Support for entrepreneurs and business owners
The official explained that the Historic Center Authority provides support to entrepreneurs who wish to establish or expand their businesses in the area, facilitating their understanding of the technical requirements and permits necessary to operate.
This support is crucial for many business owners who, in addition to managing their businesses, must navigate administrative and regulatory processes that can be complex.
“Our team supports entrepreneurs from beginning to end to make the process smoother. We help them understand the regulations and the scope of their permits so they can work in a coordinated manner with us”, Larín explained.
Recognition of institutional support

Representatives of the restaurant also highlighted the support received during the business’ growth. Saraí Escobar, the establishment’s representative, noted that the institutional support has been constant.
“The Historic Center Authority has never left us alone; there has always been follow-up and a willingness to help us. They even provided us with support around marketing”, she said.
The restaurant’s operations director, Carlos Argueta, recalled that the business has overcome various challenges since its opening, including the economic effects of the pandemic.
“We’ve come from difficult times, but we’ve also experienced very positive periods, such as the peak seasons. We continue to grow as a team and make firm decisions to strengthen the restaurant”, he expressed.
Economic and tourism development
The reopening of this establishment is part of the revitalization process of the Historic Center, where the growth of restaurants, shops, and cultural spaces has helped attract visitors and generate new job opportunities.
This type of investment reinforces the role of the Historic Center as a key hub for tourism, commercial activity, and job creation in San Salvador, consolidating its recovery as one of the capital’s main economic and cultural centers.
