The salvadoran-guatemalan development group, Costa del Sol Hotel Group, held the official groundbreaking ceremony for the Hotel El Salvador Airport, a 153-room hotel project to be built across from Aeropuerto Internacional de El Salvador San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez
The ceremony was attended by government officials, investors, and representatives from the tourism and business sectors, marking the formal start of a project designed according to international standards of contemporary hospitality. The hotel aims to strengthen the hotel offerings in the country’s main airport development hub.
The new Hotel El Salvador Airport will cater to business travelers, international tourists in transit, airline crews, and business delegations. Its design will prioritize operational efficiency, comfort, and functionality, in line with the demands of an international hotel operation linked to the dynamics of the airport.
The project encompasses an approximate construction area of 18,000 square meters, which will house 153 rooms in its first phase, as well as restaurants, bars, meeting and event spaces, and a panoramic rooftop overlooking the airport area. The initial investment, exceeding US$16 million, is part of the developer group’s expansion plan in the country.
“This initiative responds to the sustained growth in demand for quality lodging in the airport corridor, one of El Salvador’s most dynamic logistics and commercial hubs. We are confident that this project will strengthen air connectivity, corporate tourism, and strategic investment in the country”, said Manuel Ríos, CEO of Costa del Sol Hotel Group.

A commitment to expansion and job creation
As part of its growth strategy in the salvadoran market, Hoteles Costa del Sol plans to develop five additional hotels in strategic locations over the next ten years, with an estimated investment exceeding US$120 million. These projects will collectively generate approximately 800 direct jobs and more than 3,200 indirect jobs, contributing to the country’s economic dynamism and strengthening the tourism and business ecosystem.
“The addition of an international-standard hotel in the airport environment will expand the range of services available to transit passengers, business delegations, and business travelers, while strengthening El Salvador’s competitiveness as a destination for investment, tourism, and regional connectivity”, said Manuel Ríos.
With the start of its construction phase, marked by the laying of the first stone, the project is moving toward consolidating a new hotel offering designed to support the growth of air traffic, logistics development, and the expansion of corporate tourism in the country.
