The President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, participated in the evening this past month in a posthumous tribute dedicated to businessman and doctor Víctor Saca, founder of Grupo Vijosa and a key figure in the development of the pharmaceutical industry in El Salvador.
The act brought together representatives of the business sector, family members of the honoree and government authorities, who recognized the doctor’s department and their contribution to strengthening national production, especially in medicines.

During the ceremony, the president highlighted the commitment that the businessman maintained with the country throughout his life, even in adverse contexts such as the civil war, the period of violence by gangs and different economic crises.
“The doctor always maintained this real commitment to El Salvador throughout his life, even in its most difficult moments. He believed in the country in times of civil war, war against gangs, economic crisis and government changes. He believed even when nothing believed”, expressed President Bukele.

The Chief of State attended accompanied by his family and remembered the closeness that existed between the businessman and his priest, Armando Bukele Kattán, indicating that this relationship marked a personal bond since his childhood.
“I’m here more than a protocolary act, to honor the life of a great person. The doctor Saca was a great friend of my priest, he gave me a very friendly friendship; I grew up with him as a uncle”, the agent said.

The daughter of the salvadoran businessman, Mónica Saca, shared words of gratitude and highlighted the human and professional legacy that her priest left behind, which she described as an example of life and commitment to the country.
“Speaking of my father in this place has a special meaning, from which it leaves a hue and allows me to honor the man who was my example, my hero. My father believed in this industry as a way of believing in our country and in all his speeches he referred to her as my dear El Salvador”, she expressed.

The tribute also included a symbolic act in which President Bukele participated in the cutting of the salon belt that will take the name of doctor Víctor Saca within the installations of the Asociación Salvadoreña de Industriales (ASI), as a permanent recognition of his legacy in the country’s business development.
The event was a space for reconnaissance in the Saca department, considered one of the drivers of the national pharmaceutical industry and a reference in the salvadoran business sector for its vision of investment and productive development.
