The Asociación Nacional de la Empresa Privada (ANEP) announced that its president, José Luis Saca, will participate in the upcoming Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT), conference, to be held in june in Geneva, Switzerland. This marks the first time a head of the business association has attended this important international event.
According to an official statement from ANEP, the participation aims to support the withdrawal of accusations and allegations related to labor issues against El Salvador, as well as to strengthen the country’s image before international organizations and productive sectors.
The association stated that one of ANEP’s main roles is to contribute to creating conditions that allow for business growth and national economic progress. Therefore, they consider it important to participate in international forums where labor standards and productive development are discussed.
According to the statement, José Luis Saca’s participation comes at a time when El Salvador is seeking to consolidate international confidence in economic, labor, and investment matters. ANEP also highlighted as a positive sign the country’s removal from the so-called “shortlist” of labor observations, as this represents, according to the business association, recognition by the ILO of compliance with international labor conventions and standards.
The business association maintained that this situation contributes to strengthening an environment of trust to attract investment, boost productivity, and improve the international perception of El Salvador.

“José Luis Saca’s presence aims to support the withdrawal of the accusations and allegations against the country regarding labor issues”, the organization stated.
Furthermore, ANEP emphasized that decisions that contribute to business development and improve the country’s reputation should be supported, especially in a global context where international markets value compliance with labor and social standards.
“International markets highly value states that comply with labor and social standards”, José Luis Saca emphasized in the statement shared by the association.
The ILO conference brings together representatives of governments, employers, and workers from different countries each year to address issues related to employment, labor rights, productivity, working conditions, and economic development.
ANEP’s participation in this international forum also seeks to strengthen the representation of the salvadoran private sector in global discussions related to economic growth and labor relations.
The business association stated that it will continue to support initiatives aimed at generating stability, confidence, and better conditions for investment and the country’s productive development.
