The Ministry of Labor today presented a new group of salvadorans who will travel to Canada as part of the Labor Migration Program, an initiative that continues to generate legal, safe, and orderly employment opportunities for hundreds of salvadoran families.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Rolando Castro, who emphasized that the program continues to expand its benefits and allow more salvadorans to access formal employment abroad under regulated processes.
Authorities indicated that this new contingent would depart for Canada with the goal of working in various sectors, carrying with them the hope of improving their households’ economic conditions and building new opportunities for their families.

The Labor Migration Program has been promoted by the salvadoran government as an alternative for orderly human mobility, focused on connecting salvadoran workers with international companies that require skilled and responsible labor.
During the group’s presentation, representatives from the Ministry of Labor emphasized that the program not only facilitates formal employment but also guarantees legal and safe working conditions, avoiding risks associated with irregular migration.
One of the program’s beneficiaries is Marlon Hernández, who recounted learning about the initiative through social media and is now preparing to travel to Canada with a formal job that will allow him to financially support his family.
“What began as a social media post has now become an opportunity that will change my life and my family’s”, Hernández said.

The salvadoran man affirmed that this opportunity represents a new beginning and a chance to achieve personal and family goals through dignified work.
“I am going to Canada with a tremendous commitment and pride in representing El Salvador well”, he said.
Hernández also highlighted that the program would allow him to transform his household’s economic situation and provide a better quality of life for his family.
Authorities indicated that stories like Marlon’s reflect the social impact the Labor Migration Program has had on different communities across the country, benefiting people seeking opportunities for growth through formal employment abroad.

The Ministry of Labor reiterated its commitment to strengthening this international labor mobility mechanism so that more salvadorans can access employment opportunities through transparent and secure processes, supported by cooperation agreements with companies and governments in other countries.
According to authorities, the program has allowed thousands of salvadorans to travel legally to various nations to work in sectors such as agriculture, construction, services, and food processing, generating income for their families and contributing to the economic development of their communities.
The Government emphasized that the Labor Migration Program continues to solidify its position as a tool for promoting decent work and improving the living conditions of salvadoran workers through regular and safe migration processes.
