Thirty-three small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Central America will have the opportunity to expand their brand exposure and connect with customers during the new edition of the Mercadito PyMEs (Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Market) that Walmart Central America will hold on june 12 and 13 at five Walmart stores in the region.

The event will take place simultaneously throughout the region, with Walmart Constitución being the chosen branch in El Salvador. The event will run from 12 noon to 6 p.m. The SMEs participating in this edition in El Salvador are: Samaritana (semita bread, tortillas, pancakes), La Michoacana (ice pops), El Buen Chocolate (chocolate drinks), Tortiamigos (tortillas), Padapan (beans), Hermel (soy beverages), and Pecamaka (salsa, condiments, and atole).

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was presided over by Haydée de Trigueros, executive director of FUNDEMAS, the participating SMEs, and Sandra Cáceres Ganuza, Senior Corporate Affairs Specialist for Walmart in El Salvador.

During these days, attendees will be able to discover a wide variety of innovative products, including food and beverages, among others, made by small and medium-sized enterprises that are part of the “Una Mano para Crecer”program.

This program, driven by Walmart, promotes the development of SME suppliers through technical support, specialized training, and tools to strengthen their competitiveness, boost their growth, and expand their business opportunities.

“In addition to becoming a commercial platform for SMEs, the Mercadito represents an alternative for participating companies to strengthen their brand positioning, interact with potential clients, and showcase the quality and innovation of their products”, said Katherine Jiménez, leader of the SME support program for Walmart Central America.

As part of the experience, visitors will enjoy a full schedule of entertainment for the whole family over both days, including music, animation, face painting for children, surveys, a prize wheel, and tastings of products made by participating SMEs.

In addition, this year the SME Market incorporates new activities inspired by the passion that soccer inspires. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the excitement of live matches, participate in FIFA collectible postcard exchanges, and test their aim in penalty kick competitions, creating a festive atmosphere that combines support for local entrepreneurship with fun and family time.
