The salvadoran government will send 100 tons of humanitarian aid to Colombia to assist families affected by the earthquake in that country, President Nayib Bukele announced. The aid will be transported on two cargo planes as part of El Salvador’s response to the emergency.
Bukele explained that the Colombian government specifically requested humanitarian supplies, as its rescue teams, medical personnel, and other emergency responders are already deployed in the affected areas. Therefore, Colombia does not currently require Salvadoran personnel for relief and rescue efforts.

The first plane carrying aid is scheduled to depart tuesday night, while the second flight will leave on wednesday. The supplies were prepared based on the needs communicated by oclombian authorities, with the goal of supporting the families affected by the earthquake.
