Commercial carrier Spirit Airlines announces direct flight from Miami to El Salvador

The U.S. airline Spirit Airlines announced a new commercial operation between Miami International Airport, United States, and El Salvador's International Airport.

As part of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of operations in the country, Spirit Airlines executives met with the president of the Comisión Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma (CEPA)Federico Anliker, to reiterate the trust with the Government and announced the beginning of operations of the new route from the south of the state of Florida.

"We thank you for your confidence and reiterate our commitment to continue working to offer quality services to users; we are sure that the opening of this new route is a sign of the recovery of the airline industry, but also confirms the effectiveness in the implementation of the Plan de Despegue Económico and the confidence of foreign investors in our country", said the head of the autonomous, Federico Anliker.

The Economic Cabinet is involved in the implementation of the plan, which is in charge of eradicating those obstacles that reduce agility in the processes and the execution of different projects that generate multiple benefits for salvadorans.

Among the aspects contemplated in the plan are: tourism, e-commerce, customs streamlining, tax optimization, establishment of solid legal frameworks, effective interconnection, improvement of telecommunications and connectivity, among others.

Spirit Airlines is one of the eleven airlines operating out of Aeropuerto Internacional de El Salvador “San Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez”. It has maintained commercial activities with the country since 2011.
