The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), carried out a labor recruitment day in El Salvador. This initiative seeks to provide temporary employment opportunities abroad, within the framework of the Labor Mobility Program, facilitated by the Salvadoran Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The U.S. company APEX Landscape was in charge of selecting Salvadorans to perform landscaping work in residential and commercial properties.
APEX Landscape, recognized for its expertise in landscape design and maintenance, was interested in hiring Salvadoran labor due to its quality and productivity. The selected workers will travel to the United States in a regular, safe, and orderly manner, complying with the requirements established by the company, in line with the program’s objective.
Katy Calderón, head of Labor Mobility at the Foreign Ministry, highlighted that this initiative attracts more foreign companies in search of salvadoran talent. “This program projects the quality and productivity of our labor force”, said Calderón, stressing that more than 14 thousand people have been hired temporarily through this program since its inception.
During the day, candidates had the opportunity to interact directly with employers, who conducted interviews to get to know the applicants. Calderón thanked the recruiter Practical Employee Solutions, a strategic ally in sending more than 4,500 Salvadorans to temporary jobs since 2021, including 1,803 in the gardening sector.
The applicants also received an informative talk on the Labor Mobility Program, where key aspects of the process were addressed and guidance was offered to avoid scams related to fraudulent job offers abroad.
It should be noted that the recruitment processes are completely free of charge and managed directly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which facilitates contact with the companies. The companies, in turn, are responsible for selecting the most suitable profiles to fill their temporary vacancies.
