BANDESAL receives the first delegation from the Province of La Rioja, Republic of Argentina

The Banco de Desarrollo de la República de El Salvador (BANDESAL) announces the arrival of the first delegation of the Official Mission from the Province of La Rioja, Republic of Argentina, with whom they will develop an agenda of exchanges on experiences in socioeconomic matters and the implementation of programs aimed at the economic recovery of salvadoran MSMEs in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The official Argentinean mission visiting the country is formed by the vice-president of Banco La Rioja, Marcelo Becerra; the director of Foreign Trade, Timothy Cummins; the representative of the Association of Latin American Universities, Pablo Herrera; the president of Parque Eólico, Ariel Parmigiani; the undersecretary of Foreign Relations (La Rioja), Mariana Urbano and the director of Banco La Rioja, Orlando Gómez. During the meeting between the Official Mission and the Argentinean delegation, BANDESAL will present the model for the creation and execution of the Trust Fund for the Recuperación Económica de las Empresas Salvadoreñas (FIREMPRESA), as part of the strategy promoted by the Central Government, through the Economic Cabinet to reactivate our economy.

As part of the programmed activities, there will be an exchange of best practices between the models of Banco de Fomento Agropecuario (BFA), the support for the reactivation of agriculture and the Banco de La Rioja; in addition, meetings will be held with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock to learn about projects to benefit the industry; for its part, the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) will present the tourism offer of El Salvador and the Surf City project; meetings are also planned with the Organismo Promotor de Exportaciones e Inversiones de El Salvador, among other activities.

Likewise, the president of BANDESAL, Juan Pablo Durán Escobar, informed that during the course of the week an international cooperation agreement on business training will be signed with the National University of La Rioja, through which BANDESAL seeks to comply with one of the mandates of the Central Government to improve opportunities for salvadorans and position BANDESAL as a benchmark for development banking in the region.

It should be noted that the visit is part of the results obtained during the official tour made by the president of BANDESAL, Juan Pablo Durán, in the Republic of Argentina, at the end of 2021, where he presented the strategies promoted by the Government of El Salvador, to revive the salvadoran economy, after the crisis caused by the pandemic of COVID- 19.

The president of BANDESAL, Juan Pablo Durán Escobar, also highlighted the importance of making this type of agreements and meetings, since, through these; El Salvador is positioned as a model regarding the management of its economy, demonstrating the importance of innovating and implementing new economic projects.
