During the United Nations General Assembly, El Salvador and Argentina signed the new Agreement on the Acuerdo de Promoción y Protección Recíproca de Inversiones (APPRI), an instrument that seeks to establish a legal framework to strengthen investment conditions between the two countries.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador, Alexandra Hill Tinoco, and the Foreign Minister of Argentina, Pablo Quirno, as part of the bilateral agenda that both governments have been developing since 2024.
From an investment perspective, the new APPRI establishes a predictable and balanced legal framework, in accordance with international best practices, as explained by the Argentine Foreign Minister. This aims to provide greater certainty for investments made between the two countries.
