dinero_admin The minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem, said during a television interview that El Salvador has made significant progress in trade facilitation, positioning himself as a regional reference thanks to the modernization of procedures and the improvement of infrastructure. “All roads that have been improved and the digitalization of procedures are the result of the coordinated work of 17 institutions”, said the official.
These efforts have generated direct benefits for the business sector, facilitating logistics operations and reducing times and costs. Modernization has been key to making the country more competitive and promoting a more attractive environment for foreign trade.
The minister said that El Salvador has favorable conditions for economic growth and to consolidate as an investment destination. In that line, he highlighted the continuous attraction of foreign capital, thanks to policies oriented to stability, efficiency, and economic openness.
In the international sphere, Hayem said that after the meeting between President Nayib Bukele and former US president Donald Trump on april 15, the bilateral relationship has been strengthened, which has generated a positive economic impact. He said that meetings with US commercial authorities have been held to address issues such as increased tariffs and enhance exports.
In addition, the minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustained economic growth. “We are looking for growth that translates into macroeconomic figures, which we see it reflected in the products, exports and life of salvadorans”, he concluded.
