The salvadoran diaspora continues to strengthen its ties to the country’s development through investment initiatives aimed at creating opportunities for salvadoran families. As part of these efforts, El Salvador’s Ambassador to the United States, Milena Mayorga, held a meeting with salvadoran businessman Jorge Méndez, CEO of a construction company with operations in the United States, and the Minister of Housing, Michelle Sol.
The meeting aimed to analyze potential social housing projects and explore new initiatives that could expand the housing supply, promote investment, and generate economic development in the country.
According to Ambassador Mayorga, the meeting is part of ongoing efforts to connect salvadorans living abroad with strategic projects that contribute to national growth. She also emphasized the diaspora’s commitment to El Salvador’s transformation and its interest in actively participating in initiatives that benefit the population.
During the meeting, investment opportunities related to the construction of social housing were discussed, a sector considered a priority for reducing the housing deficit and expanding access to housing for salvadoran families.

Minister Michelle Sol expressed her gratitude for the work done by the salvadoran diplomatic mission in the United States to facilitate contact between diaspora investors and government institutions.
The minister reported that Jorge Méndez heads a housing construction company in the United States and has expressed interest in developing housing projects in El Salvador. She explained that the company has a production capacity of up to 2,000 homes per year, experience that could contribute to strengthening future projects in the country.
Michelle Sol emphasized that the Ministry of Housing remains open to all investors interested in developing projects that will increase the housing supply and generate new opportunities for the population.

Authorities indicated that these types of collaborations represent an opportunity to leverage the experience, knowledge, and investment capacity of the salvadoran diaspora, strengthening strategic sectors such as housing and promoting economic development.
They also emphasized that partnerships between the public sector and salvadoran businesspeople living abroad can help drive social impact projects, generate employment, and expand access to housing for thousands of families.
With this approach, the government seeks to continue promoting diaspora participation in investment initiatives that contribute to the country’s growth and improve the quality of life for salvadorans.
