
The U.S. Embassy in El Salvador reported that Under Secretary Caleb Orr met with El Salvador’s Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem, to discuss new opportunities for collaboration that would allow the U.S. private sector to boost the country’s economic and technological growth.
The meeting took place on the second day of Orr’s official visit to El Salvador and was part of an agenda focused on strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two nations.
According to the U.S. Embassy, the meeting addressed possibilities for joint work to promote investment, strengthen strategic sectors, and generate new opportunities for economic development.
The diplomatic mission emphasized that one of the main objectives is to facilitate cooperation that allows the U.S. private sector to participate in projects related to El Salvador’s economic and technological growth.
Minister María Luisa Hayem described the meeting as fruitful and expressed her gratitude for the ongoing dialogue with representatives of the U.S. government and companies in strategic sectors.

The official reiterated that the Salvadoran government remains committed to working in coordination with the U.S. delegation to finalize projects that will benefit both countries.
She also noted that these types of meetings strengthen bilateral relations and open opportunities for cooperation in areas related to investment, technology, innovation, and economic development.

The meeting also reflects the interest of both parties in continuing to promote initiatives that facilitate business growth and attract investment in sectors considered strategic for the Salvadoran economy.
The rapprochement between U.S. officials and salvadoran authorities comes at a time when El Salvador is seeking to further expand trade relations, promote technology projects, and strengthen foreign investment in various productive sectors of the country.
