An index of major crops has reversed its 2024 loss as bad weather increases concerns about crops from wheat to coffee, rekindling fears about rising food prices, according to a Bloomberg survey.

Corn and beans were the grains with the greatest losses in the 2023-2024 agricultural cycle, since all the adversities for the sector came together, such as: the high cost of inputs, labor shortages, the cost of land rental doubled, and natural phenomena that generated losses of more than US$82 million.
