The Legislative Assembly of El Salvador has announced that by 2025 it will reduce the budget for remunerations by US$18.6 million, compared to 2021, thanks to a new cut in the budgets of the legislative fractions.
In 2021, the remuneration budget amounted to US$55,340,650. By 2024, this figure had already decreased to US$44,906,990, and by 2025 it is projected to be further reduced to US$36,719,342.
The total decrease between 2021 and 2025 will be US$18.6 million. These reductions, according to the institution, respond to the commitment to make efficient use of public resources.
The legislative body said that these adjustments are part of the mandate that the salvadoran people have entrusted them with, in order to optimize the management of public funds.
