For the first time in history, El Salvador hosted the XXII Meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Budget for Results Network, an event that brings together more than 14 Budget Directors from 11 countries in the region.
The purpose of the meeting is to promote the exchange of experiences and strengthen cooperation among Latin American countries, facilitating the development of joint strategies to improve the quality of public spending and fiscal transparency.

During the meeting, representatives from Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and Ecuador will discuss key issues such as the use of the budget as a tool for fiscal sustainability, the evaluation of the quality of public spending and the incorporation of climate change into budget planning.

Issues related to human resource management in public administrations and tools for controlling health spending will also be addressed.
“This event is not only an opportunity to share best practices and strengthen technical capacities in the region, but also reflects El Salvador’s commitment, under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele, to economic and social development through efficient and transparent management of public spending”, said Finance Minister Jerson Posada.

The organization of this forum in El Salvador reaffirms the country’s progress in strengthening its economy, consolidating its new identity as a safe and attractive destination for international events. It also represents another step in the path towards the global positioning of El Salvador as a reference in terms of security, tourism, and economic development.
