IDB Invest has granted $50 million in financing to Aristos Inmobiliaria for the development and modernization of industrial parks in El Salvador. This project includes the expansion of Orion Industrial Park, the country’s first airport free trade zone (AirCity), as well as improvements to American Industrial Park and Sirius Industrial Park. The initiative seeks to strengthen the country’s competitiveness, attract foreign investment, and generate jobs in strategic sectors.

With the expansion, more than 90,000 m² of industrial infrastructure will be added over the next five years, on top of the 330,000 m² already existing. This growth is aimed at international companies linked to global supply chains, especially those focused on exports. The initiative is in line with El Salvador’s efforts to diversify its economy and consolidate its attractiveness for foreign direct investment.
In addition to financing, IDB Invest will provide advisory services for Orion Industrial Park to obtain EDGE certification, guaranteeing the application of sustainable practices in its buildings. The certification will reinforce the commitment to energy efficiency and decarbonization of the industry, promoting responsible industrial development in the region. In addition, an Occupational Risk Prevention Management Program will be implemented during the construction and operation of the project.

The modernization of infrastructure in the free trade zones will not only boost efficiency and sustainability, but will also strengthen El Salvador’s economic resilience in the face of global challenges. The incorporation of new technologies and energy solutions in these industrial parks will ensure greater competitiveness and efficiency in production processes.
This project contributes directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in key areas such as affordable and clean energy (SDG 7), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), industry and innovation (SDG 9), responsible production (SDG 12) and climate action (SDG 13). With this initiative, IDB Invest reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable transformation of supply chains in the region.
