The deputies of the Finance Committee issued a favorable opinion in favor of the draft General State Budget Law 2024, which amounts to US$9,068.7 million. The resources will be used so that all State portfolios can continue to work adequately in 2024.

The legislators considered allocating US$1,566.9 million to the Education portfolio, US$1,261.2 million to the Health portfolio, and US$866 million to the Security and Defense portfolio. According to Congressman Edgardo Mulato, 40% of the National Budget will be destined for health, education and security.

The parliamentarians also issued a favorable opinion to the initiative that contains the authorization to the Executive Branch to manage resources through the issuance of credit securities or the contracting of loans.

Deputy William Soriano also described that the Legislative Assembly's budget for 2023 was US$57.6 million and in 2024 the amount was reduced to a requested amount of US$54.13 million.
