Stock Market, Insurance Premiums and State Banks growth as of july 2021

The Bolsa de Valores (BVES), integrated between El Salvador and Panama, reached a cumulative total of US$252.9 million in traded amounts as of july 2021, registering an interannual increase of 48.2%, demonstrating the interest of investors in the markets of both countries. The amount traded in the stock market as of july 2020 was US$170.7 million and as of july 2021 was US$252.9 million.

In addition, the growth of insurance premiums as of july 2021 was also evaluated to be US$470.6 million and those as of july 2020 were US$403.9 million, in 2020 being a year-on-year increase of US$66.7 million in insurance premiums, which are the payments policyholders make for the coverage they receive. This demonstrates that the industry remains strong.

As for State Banking, it registered an inter-annual increase of 21.78% in deposits. It also shows a growth in the granting of loans, thus demonstrating the confidence of the population in the state banks and the support for the promotion of the country's economy.

The performance of the state-owned banks as of July 2021 is: loans reached US$1,221.9 million with an inter-annual growth of 8.21%, and deposits reached US$1,542 million with an inter-annual growth of 21.78%.
