CAF supports urban mobility programs in El Salvador to improve urban transportation and boost economic growth

During his visit to El Salvador, CAF Executive President Sergio Díaz-Granados, together with Finance minister Jerson Posada, signed a $75 million loan that will be used to strengthen the government's urban mobility plans.

To improve the quality of life of salvadorans and enhance the country's competitiveness, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, granted a US$75 million loan to El Salvador for the “Program to support low-emission urban mobility. The agreement was signed by CAF's Executive President, Sergio Díaz-Granados, and El Salvador's Minister of Finance, Jerson Posada, after due process was completed between the parties.

This project aims to promote electromobility, in line with the country's priority of promoting sustainable economic development and strengthening institutionalization in the sector to improve its efficiency.

The meeting held at the Ministry of Finance also reviewed the portfolio of projects underway in the areas of trade facilitation, investment, health, among others, as well as other key strategies for the economy of El Salvador and other CAF members.
