Propane gas prices remain unchanged for the month of may

The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM) informed about the retail prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders in its different presentations for the month of may.

Propane gas prices are regulated with subsidy for close to one million salvadoran families, prices have not experienced any change with respect to the month of april, which is intended to alleviate consumers' pockets by not increasing costs.

The costs of this LPG have not varied, the institution also indicated that the Government maintains the subsidy of US$8.04.

The 25-pound drum, the most used by salvadorans, will have a price of US$11.13 applying the government subsidy at a cost of US$3.09.

The subsidized price of the 35-pound cylinder will be US$7.46 with a maximum sale price of US$15.50; the 20-pound cylinder will be US$0.94 with a maximum sale price of US$8.98; and the 10-pound cylinder with subsidy will be US$0.00 with a maximum sale price of US$4.61.

The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas, has two subsidies applied to the sale of liquefied gas: a focused one that fixes the price in the market, in force until may 31, 2024, and the subsidy focused through the solidarity cards.
