BCR affirms that IVAE grew 4.2% as of november 2021

The Banco Central de Reserva (BCR), informed through its twitter account that the Volume Index of Economic Activity (IVAE) grew 4.2% in november 2021, reflecting a dynamic environment for most services and trade activities.

It also noted that the holiday period and year-end festivities, as well as higher household income, boosted production and demand for various services and trade. These were the ones with the highest growth and incidence in the IVAE result in november 2021.

Professional scientific, technical, administrative support and other services activities grew by 14.2%. In the functions of public administration, defense, teaching, health and personal assistance there was a growth of 10.4%.

Trade, transportation, storage, restaurants and hotels grew by 9.2%. Information and communications grew by 8.3%.

Other production indicators reflect a salvadoran economic recovery.

The BCR highlighted that the annual variation to november 2021 in other production indicators, such as, for example, the use of digital technologies in the social, academic, commercial and productive areas, increased to 7.9%, the Apparent Energy Consumption (CAE).

Likewise, the construction of residential and non-residential buildings required a higher Apparent Cement Consumption (ACC), reflecting a growth of 8.9%.

The higher demand for exports and overcoming logistics problems boosted the production of transportation services, generating a 17.6% growth in maritime cargo transportation.
