The objective of the Program is to increase the resilience of households affected by adverse events, including those caused by Climate Change (CC), through the creation of an integrated system of shock-responsive social protection, the delivery of temporary Cash Transfers (TM), and the strengthening of the Early Childhood Development (ECD) offer for such households.
The program will serve households living in poverty in urban and rural areas, with emphasis on families headed by women, with children under eight years of age, people over 70 years old or with disabilities.
Universal access to energy in El Salvador
Continuing with the approval of the decrees of the Finance Commission, the deputies approved with 76 votes, that the State grants a sovereign guarantee in the subscription of a US$93 million loan agreement to be granted to the Comisión Ejecutiva Hidroeléctrica del Río Lempa (CEL), to finance the "Universal Access to Energy Program in El Salvador".
The program also seeks to strengthen CEL's technical capacity to plan and manage electrification projects, and the "commitment of the beneficiary communities" to efficient energy use projects for domestic and productive activities "in harmony with the environment".
