INICIATIVA DINAMICA: a growth opportunity for MSMEs

During the second day of the SNBX INNOVATION SUMMIT, the representative of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) Mercy Ramos, presented the program being implemented by the multilateral called "INICIATIVA DINAMICA", which aims to strengthen the business ecosystem for MSMEs and especially for those new, young and / or innovative, as well as strengthening the financial sector to promote adequate access to financial services for these MSMEs at the regional level.

The beneficiary countries include Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

This Initiative has supported salvadoran MSMEs with more than US$12 million in loans; it has strengthened more than 79 micro and small enterprises with non-reimbursable Small Grants resources; and it has more than US$6 million for allocations in technical assistance to strengthen Business Development Centers and MSMEs, as well as seed capital for innovative enterprises and MSMEs, through the Special Window of El Salvador.

The interest rate applicable to the intermediary is established in accordance with current CABEI regulations and may be reviewed every three months or sooner if necessary.

The DYNAMIC Initiative is an itripartite of CABEI as executing entity, with the support of the Government of Germany through KfW and the European Union as part of its Latin American Investment Facility (LAIF).
