Micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in the growth of El Salvador’s economy, according to Paul Steiner, head of the National Commission for Micro and Small Enterprises (CONAMYPE), during his participation in Fábrica de Negocio 2026.
During his presentation, Steiner emphasized the growth experienced by MSMEs and their contribution to the national economy, highlighting that these businesses represent a significant portion of the country’s productive activity and generate opportunities for entrepreneurs and business owners.
The head of CONAMYPE also noted that improvements in security have fostered an increase in neighborhood stores and the opening of new businesses. This situation, he explained, has allowed for more commercial activity to develop in different communities.

Another key aspect highlighted was the participation of MSMEs in exports. Steiner highlighted that micro and small businesses are taking salvadoran products to new markets, thus expanding commercial opportunities for the sector and contributing to the presence of national products abroad.
CONAMYPE also emphasized the government’s role in strengthening this business segment. The institution stated that, through its services and tools, it seeks to empower MSMEs and promote a bottom-up economy.
Institutional support is geared toward contributing to the development, growth, and competitiveness of micro and small businesses. To this end, CONAMYPE indicated that it continues to generate opportunities, business connections, and alliances aimed at strengthening the sector.

Participation in events such as Fábrica de Negocio 2026 also allows MSMEs to access new opportunities and connections that can contribute to the growth of their businesses. In this context, the institution maintains its focus on providing tools that help entrepreneurs strengthen their capabilities.
CONAMYPE invited owners of micro and small businesses interested in strengthening their businesses to learn about the services and opportunities available through the institution. For more information, business owners can contact us via WhatsApp at 7074-7074.
