The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) and FANTEL held the third edition of the “International Trade in Action” forum, an initiative aimed at strengthening the capabilities of salvadoran micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) interested in participating in foreign trade operations.
During the event, participating companies received training on fundamental topics for conducting international operations, including customs regulations, tariff classification, and export and import processes. This knowledge aims to help more MSMEs correctly meet the requirements necessary to access international markets.
The forum was geared toward both companies already engaged in foreign trade operations and those preparing to begin their internationalization process. MSMEs seeking to update and strengthen their knowledge to face the challenges of global trade also participated.
One of the components of the event was information sessions and personalized consultations. At these sessions, companies could directly inquire about registrations, regulatory requirements, and the documentation necessary to conduct international trade operations.
The MSMEs also received guidance on market access and technical assistance services, elements that can be crucial for a company to identify business opportunities abroad and prepare adequately to capitalize on them.
Through these activities, CONAMYPE and FANTEL aim to reduce the difficulties that micro and small businesses may face when entering international trade. The training allows entrepreneurs to more clearly understand the procedures and obligations they must fulfill when exporting or importing.
Strengthening these capacities can also help more salvadoran companies expand their markets, generate new business opportunities, and improve their competitiveness. In this way, MSMEs have better tools to integrate into national and international trade chains.
CONAMYPE and FANTEL thus reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the ecosystem that supports foreign trade, promoting training, consulting, and access to specialized information for MSMEs. The initiative seeks to contribute to the growth of these businesses and, consequently, foster job creation and the country’s productive development.
