The Vice Ministry of Transportation, in collaboration with the private sector, has taken a significant step towards the modernization of the public transportation system in El Salvador. In an event headed by the Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Romeo Herrera, and the Vice Minister of Transportation, Nelson Reyes, a new fleet of 21 buses that will operate on various routes in the country was presented. This initiative is part of the Government’s efforts to offer more efficient and modern public transportation.
The units, which will provide service in areas such as San Salvador Este, San Miguel, Cuscatlán, La Libertad and Chalatenango, seek to improve the quality of public transportation and provide a more comfortable and safer experience for users. The project reinforces the government’s commitment to the transformation of public transportation, prioritizing mobility and the well-being of the population.

The investment in these new units amounts to US$2.5 million. This investment reflects the commitment of the private sector to the vision of President Nayib Bukele, who has promoted the modernization of transportation as a strategic priority for the country’s development.
The Vice Ministry of Transportation has been a key player in the implementation of this project, demonstrating coordinated work with the private sector to expedite the modernization of public transportation. The new units have modern features that guarantee greater safety, comfort and efficiency for users, marking a significant advance in the public transportation system.


The arrival of this new fleet of buses is expected to have a positive impact on urban and rural mobility, reducing travel times and promoting more sustainable transportation. This project represents an example of joint work between the government and the private sector, demonstrating that collaboration can be an engine of development for the country.
