EDS Manufacturing, a company dedicated to the production of electrical harnesses and electromechanical components for the automotive industry, announced a US$20 million investment in El Salvador to establish a new manufacturing plant geared toward the global electric vehicle market.
According to the company, the project plans to create 500 direct jobs, primarily in technical and specialized assembly areas. The plant will be integrated into the international supply chain for electrical components, a sector that has experienced sustained growth due to the expansion of the electric vehicle market and energy transition policies in various regions of the world.
Government authorities emphasized that the arrival of EDS Manufacturing strengthens El Salvador’s position as a competitive destination for advanced manufacturing and foreign direct investment. They also noted that these types of projects contribute to strengthening the country’s productive diversification and its capacity to integrate into higher value-added sectors.
With this investment, El Salvador continues to attract capital linked to the automotive and electromechanical industries, sectors considered strategic for national and regional economic development.
