
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) will hold its first-ever Aviation Day in El Salvador on tuesday, december 9, at the Hilton San Salvador Hotel.
The event will bring together leading figures from the airline industry, tourism, the aviation value chain, and government representatives to analyze the challenges and opportunities currently facing El Salvador. The current administration is strongly committed to leveraging air connectivity as a cornerstone of its successful tourism promotion strategy.

“Holding an event like this in El Salvador, with a robust agenda and the participation of key industry and government stakeholders, will position the country at the forefront of air transport in the Americas and its entire value chain”, said Peter Cerdá, IATA’s Regional Vice President for the Americas.
This high-level meeting will feature the participation of four CEOs from the region’s leading airlines. Along with experts, regulators, authorities, and other prominent panelists with regional influence, they will participate in an engaging agenda highlighting the importance of working together to implement policies that promote air connectivity, tourism, trade, and investment. Topics will include:

• Challenges and priorities for air transport in El Salvador. • Tourism and infrastructure megaprojects. • New opportunities for tourism in El Salvador. • The history and future of air transport in El Salvador. • Connectivity and competitiveness for El Salvador’s development. • The path to carbon-neutral aviation by 2050. • Operational needs to strengthen aviation in El Salvador.
