Nestlé El Salvador strengthens its leadership in sustainability by training over 130 employees in environmental education, in partnership with the Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (MARN).

The company became the first in the country to train its staff through the Virtual Environmental School as part of the program “Construyendo un Futuro Sostenible,” aimed at incorporating environmental criteria into operations and corporate culture.

The training included five key modules: solid waste management, climate change, water care, biodiversity, and eco-efficiency. Each participant had to complete theoretical content and pass evaluations to receive their diploma, ensuring that the knowledge acquired translates into concrete practices within the plant, distribution centers, and various areas of the company.

For Nestlé, this focus on internal training is a central part of its environmental strategy and a further step toward operating responsibly with natural resources.
José Antonio Moy, General Manager of Nestlé El Salvador, emphasized that this graduation represents a milestone for the company and a clear sign of its long-term commitment to sustainability.

He explained that, by being the first company in El Salvador to use the Virtual Environmental School platform to train its employees, Nestlé seeks to “demonstrate responsibility with facts” toward the planet, society, and future generations. He highlighted the company’s pride in leading such efforts. He added that, by training its staff on topics such as climate change, water care, and waste management, each employee becomes a change agent capable of promoting better practices both inside and outside the company.
Moy also noted that such programs open the door for El Salvador’s experience to be replicated in other Central American countries and the region, always in coordination with local environmental authorities. He stated that Nestlé’s vision is for environmental education not to be an isolated effort but a continuous process that transforms the way resources are produced, consumed, and managed, aligned with public policies and the expectations of new generations.

“Nestlé’s commitment to the planet goes beyond our operations. We seek to inspire real change among our various stakeholders, starting with our employees, because we know that each one can be a spokesperson for more sustainable habits inside and outside the organization,”
reaffirmed the company’s General Manager.
