In a market where competing against consolidated companies seems like a difficult task for any micro or small company (MYPE), Grupo BOLHER S.A. de C.V. has demonstrated that differentiation, innovation and brand construction can become engines of growth. This highlights its CEO, Napoleón Ernesto Bolaños, who ensures that the company’s performance has always been about generating trust rather than focusing solely on sales.
The results support this strategy. According to Bolaños, the company has registered an average growth of 30% annually over the last five years and currently generates 50 direct jobs, figures that reflect the evolution of a company that began operations in 2016 and that today has consolidated itself as one of the main distributors of hue in the modern channel salvadoran.
“It’s difficult not to sell your hands, but to build a brand that families trust”, said the businessman during an interview with this magazine. This philosophy has guided the development of Grupo BOLHER since its beginnings and has become one of the main lessons that it shares with other entrepreneurs.

The history of the company is closely linked to the trajectory of its founder. Bolaños belongs to the third generation of a family dedicated to poultry farming and, after the retreat of his family from the sector, he decided to resume the activity with a renewed vision. Its objective was not simply to produce hues, but to develop brands capable of connecting with consumers through quality, innovation and a differentiated value proposition.
One of the main challenges was joining an industry dominated by companies with decades of experience and a strong presence in the market. Faced with this scenario, Grupo BOLHER’s strategy was to focus on innovation as a tool for differentiation.

The company was a pioneer in El Salvador in the commercialization of eggs enriched with selenium, omega-3 and chicken eggs, products that responded to new consumer trends and a growing demand for foods with additional nutritional benefits. At the same time, it developed innovative packages and visual concepts that allowed it to highlight its products at points of sale and strengthen the positioning of its brands.
For Bolaños, building a brand does not depend solely on a good image. It also requires consistency and quality. Therefore, the company has worked to strengthen each stage of its operation, from the breeding of the birds to the final distribution, ensuring that the consumer receives a fresh, safe and reliable product.

In this growth process, Walmart became a key strategic ally. According to the entrepreneur, the chain of supermarkets has invested in innovative products from Grupo BOLHER since its first stages, giving them the opportunity to introduce new categories of products that at that moment did not exist in the salvadoran market.
In addition to access to new consumers, the relationship with Walmart has driven an internal transformation within the company. Working with a company with international reach requires strengthening logistics, improving supply processes, optimizing operational planning and maintaining increasingly rigorous quality standards. “More than a commercial relationship, it has been an opportunity to learn, innovate and continually improve”, says Bolaños.

Currently, Grupo BOLHER maintains its commitment to sustainable growth, innovation and strengthening of its brands. Its plans include developing new products derived from the brain, incorporating more technology into its processes and continuing to generate value for consumers.
The company’s experience provides an important reflection for MYPES: in increasingly competitive markets, success does not depend solely on the product that is sold, but rather on the ability to build a brand that generates trust, differentiates itself from competence and remains in the minds of consumers. This has been the decision of Grupo BOLHER and, according to its results, has also been the key to its growth.
