What started as a parking lot to serve visitors to the Malacatiupán Falls today is Rusticanto, a restaurant that has established itself as one of the most well-known businesses in this tourist area of Ahuachapán. Behind its growth is the vision and perseverance of José Tito Ventura, who was supposed to identify an opportunity from which many people only saw a complementary service.
Ventura reported that the idea was born to observe the tourist potential of the Malacatiupán Falls and the need to offer visitors something more than a space to park their vehicles. With time, conversations with tourists allowed us to discover that many were looking for a place to rest and enjoy good food after visiting the hot springs.

This direct contact with customers marks the beginning of the business. What began as a parking lot gradually evolved into a family restaurant. As the businessman explained, one of the moments that confirmed that he followed the correct path was when visitors began to return and recommend the place to other people.
Growth, however, is accompanied by challenges and a decision that Ventura considers fundamental for any entrepreneur: losing the fear of starting. He ensured that Rusticanto was born with limited resources, but consistency, discipline and willingness to learn allowed the project to continue moving forward step by step.

Part of this process was to focus on business and managerial training. Ventura explained that he was looking for training to strengthen business administration and acquire tools that would help him make better decisions. Thanks to him, I learned about planning, financial control and process organization, aspects that today form part of the daily management of the restaurant.
“The business now has to operate solely with intuition and is now being managed with more planning”, meaning it refers to the changes implemented after its formation. Among the best, we highlight greater expense control, better product management and new strategies to promote the restaurant and attract more visitors.

Currently, Rusticanto generates employment for inhabitants of the area and has become a point of reference for those visiting Malacatiupán. For Ventura, part of success lies in offering close attention, maintaining a family environment and enjoying the advantage of being located next to one of the most visited natural attractions in the west of the country.
Looking towards the future, the businessman plans to continue expanding the business’s tourist offer. Among its plans are new rest areas, swimming pools and huts, with the aim of transforming Rusticanto into a destination where visitors can stay longer and enjoy a complete experience.

Tito Ventura’s experience reflects how a simple idea can become a solid company when vision, constant work and training are combined. His main advice for other entrepreneurs is not to be held back by the fear of starting, since, according to him, entrepreneurscomes with patience, learning and perseverance.
