From november 30 to december 2, Ayuntamiento de Madrid will participate in the GET Forum 2025, a regional meeting promoted by IDB Lab that brings together leaders in innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology from across Central and Latin America. The delegation will be led by Ángel Niño, Councilor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Virginia Blanco, director general of Innovation.

Madrid comes to the forum with a clear mission: to strengthen its ties with the innovation ecosystems of Central America and consolidate its position as one of the most dynamic urban hubs in Europe, sharing experiences, models, and opportunities for collaboration with institutions, startups, governments, and key players in the region. The city will also present the progress of the Puentes de Talento (Talent Bridges) program, which has already benefited 55 entrepreneurs from 12 countries, connecting them with European networks, specialized training, and internationalization opportunities.
Madrid: A european benchmark connecting with Central American ecosystems
According to the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, Madrid ranks among the top three EU cities for digital innovation and entrepreneurship. Its strategy combines public investment, business collaboration, incubation, access to international talent, and a network of over 1,100 projects launched in recent years.

This leadership aligns with the growth taking place in Central America, where institutions such as Secretaría de Innovación de El Salvador, Ministerio de Economía de Costa Rica (MEIC), Secretaría Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología de Honduras (SENACIT) and Ministerio de Economía de Guatemala (MINECO),along with the private technology sector and multilateral organizations, are driving an increasingly active digital transformation agenda.
In this context, Madrid’s participation in GET Forum represents a key opportunity to connect models, forge alliances, and open new avenues of cooperation with the countries of the region.

“We want to build an innovation corridor between Madrid and Central America”.
“Madrid is experiencing an extraordinary moment as an innovative city. We have one of the strongest ecosystems in Europe, and we want to share this experience with the Central American countries, which are driving significant transformations in technology, talent, and entrepreneurship”, said Ángel Niño, Councilor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
“GET Forum is a privileged space for building real alliances between Madrid and Latin America. Our goal is to strengthen bridges, connect people, and open new opportunities for entrepreneurs, institutions, and innovation projects in the region”, said Virginia Blanco, director general of Innovation.
