Access to affordable agricultural inputs remains a priority for strengthening the productive sector in El Salvador. In this context, the Vice Minister Ad-Honorem of the Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería de El Salvador (MAG),Óscar Domínguez, reported that thousands of farmers are already purchasing products at cost through the nationwide distribution network.
According to official information, the program has 16 branches distributed throughout the country, allowing producers to directly access fertilizers and essential inputs without intermediaries. Among the available locations are towns such as Chalchuapa, Sonsonate, Quezaltepeque, Chalatenango, San Martín, Cojutepeque, San Andrés, San Miguel, Usulután, and Ahuachapán, among others, thus covering various strategic agricultural areas.
The main objective of this initiative is to reduce production costs for farmers by facilitating the purchase of inputs at prices lower than those on the market. Among the available products are fertilizers widely used in agriculture, such as ammonium sulfate, 16-20-0, 15-15-15, and physical blends with high nitrogen and sulfur content.

According to reference prices shared by the authorities, ammonium sulfate is available starting at US$15.70, while 16-20-0 fertilizer is offered starting at US$29.75 and 15-15-15 starting at US$30.85. Meanwhile, the physical blend with 40% nitrogen and 6% sulfur is available starting at US$31.45. These costs may vary depending on the selected formula, whether chemical or physical, while maintaining quality standards to guarantee its effectiveness in crops.
In addition, the program includes a home delivery service for group orders exceeding 150 quintals, a measure designed to streamline logistics for producer associations or groups, especially in rural areas. This option optimizes delivery times and reduces transportation costs.

Authorities also highlighted that, in addition to fertilizers, other agricultural inputs necessary for crop development are available, thus expanding the scope of support provided to the sector. For inquiries and orders, farmers can contact the MAG through telephone lines and digital platforms.
An important aspect of this initiative is the prohibition of product resale, to ensure that inputs reach producers directly and prevent practices that could drive up prices again in the market.
With these types of actions, the Government seeks to strengthen agricultural productivity, support small and medium-sized producers, and guarantee more favorable conditions for the sector’s development, especially during the planting season.
