The Banco Central de Reserva (BCR) celebrated the second anniversary of “Mi Viaje Financiero”,an interactive bus created to bring financial education to salvadoran students in a dynamic, practical, and entertaining way.
The initiative is part of the Estrategia Nacional de Educación Financiera (ENEF) and is primarily focused on children and young people between 13 and 18 years old, promoting responsible habits related to saving, planning, and the proper use of money.

Since its launch two years ago, the project has traveled to all 14 departments of the country and visited 96 districts, reaching both urban and rural areas. A total of 58,147 people has participated in this educational experience, 51.3% of whom are women.
In 2016, “Mi Viaje Financiero” has already benefited 11,297 people in 27 districts, mainly in Santa Ana, Sonsonate, Ahuachapán, and La Libertad. Through interactive stations and virtual reality experiences, students learn about financial topics applied to everyday life, such as saving, small, recurring expenses, using ATMs, Transfer365, payments with NPE codes, QR code payments, and how POS terminals work.

As part of the second anniversary celebration, the bus visited the Complejo Educativo Católico Doctora María Julia Hernández, where 561 students participated.
The Banco Central de Reserva (BCR) highlighted that this initiative seeks to strengthen financial inclusion and education in the country, providing tools that allow new generations to make better economic decisions and develop healthy financial habits from an early age.
