The Ministry of Housing delivered 154 property deeds this friday to families affected by the Corporación Argoz, as part of the property regularization process aimed at providing legal security to thousands of salvadorans. According to the institution, the delivery represents the recovery of assets valued between US$10,000 and US$12,000 per family.
Housing Minister Michelle Sol explained that this latest delivery benefits families who, for years, were unable to obtain legal title to their land, despite having made the corresponding payments.
“Today, 154 deeds were delivered, which represents a recovery for each family of approximately between US$10,000 and US$12,000”, the official said.
The delivery included families from 37 housing developments located in 10 departments of the country, who now have documentation that legally proves their ownership of their properties.

According to data from the Ministry of Housing, the regularization process has allowed for the recovery of more than $2 billion in assets through the delivery of deeds to people who had not previously received legal title to their land.
The minister explained that, to date, the government has delivered more than 118,000 deeds through various regularization programs. Of that total, 76,000 correspond to cases related to the Corporación Argoz, and she assured that deliveries will continue to be made monthly.
In addition to the legal benefit, obtaining a deed represents an asset with economic value for families, as it allows them to prove ownership of their home, access financing more easily, carry out inheritance procedures, sell the property, or use it as collateral for productive projects.

The official also indicated that the goal is to continue expanding the program’s coverage to advance the legalization of land for more than 400,000 families, strengthening legal security and protecting the assets of thousands of salvadoran households.
With these actions, the Ministry of Housing seeks to consolidate the property regularization process, providing legal certainty to families and recovering the economic value of properties that for years lacked the corresponding documentation.
