Women thanks to their emotional leadership and empathy are transforming the reality of El Salvador.

María Teresa Menéndez is a multi-faceted woman: professional, wife and mother, with an insatiable appetite for living life to the fullest. Her daily commitment is focused on giving the best of herself, for her own well-being and for her family.

With a solid 22-year career in the communications world, Maria Teresa has held the role of Sustainability, Communications and Relationship Manager at DELSUR for the past 6 years. Her energy to serve others aligns perfectly with DELSUR's vision and mission.

For Maria Teresa, Women's Day is not only a celebration, but also a reminder of the rights, empowerment and potential inherent in every woman. Beyond recognition, she is a strong advocate for gender equity in all areas.

Building multidisciplinary and diverse teams is one of Maria Teresa's most enriching practices in her career. These teams give her the opportunity to constantly grow and evolve as a professional, while working is also a source of mental health and peace for her, as well as being an example for her children. Throughout her career, Maria Teresa has faced several challenges, especially related to her health.

However, she has known how to take the necessary breaks to take care of herself and then resume her path with renewed determination. Her professional achievements are reflected in her constant growth in each role, as well as in her commitment, responsibility, empathy and transparency in the management of her work.

In the salvadoran business context, María Teresa is optimistic about an increase in the participation of women. For her, women bring a different emotionality to leadership, marked by greater empathy, listening skills, conflict resolution and collaborative work, which she considers a valuable complement in the workplace and at home, where responsibilities are shared equally.
