The Defensoría del Consumidor (DC) activated this tuesday a new operation to protect the pocket and the rights of consumers during the shopping season for “Father's Day” which includes a device of approaching services in the territory and surveillance of the various markets of goods and services nationwide.

Likewise, the Defensoría del Consumidor has informed that during the execution of the plan, inspection teams will verify promotions and offers and advertising of goods and services in establishments and electronic commerce, in order to prevent affectations to the economic rights of consumers.

Through its official website, the DC indicated that electronic devices are the most sought-after products by salvadorans on this holiday, which is celebrated next monday, june 17, which is why they will focus on ensuring fair prices and compliance with the Consumer Protection Law.

Likewise, the President of the DC, Ricardo Salazar said, “last year we attended more than 6,500 consumers in problems related to different types of warranty, including the issue of televisions, cell phones, electronic devices, as they are part of the products purchased for this season of Father's Day”.

Likewise, he said that problems related to warranties, any undue charge or any situation in which consumers' rights are not being exercised will be attended.

It was emphasized that the CD has an important deployment of attention to consumers with about 18 fixed points, which will be activated during the next few days, in order to be in different shopping centers to serve the population in need.
