The Ministry of Labor announced that in the coming days it will reveal the name of a European country that will join the Labor Migration Program, providing new opportunities for Salvadorans. This program allows workers to travel with two-year temporary visas to work in sectors such as agriculture and cleaning, guaranteeing labor rights and benefits.
The minister of Labor, Rolando Castro, highlighted the importance of this initiative, assuring that “it will not only change the lives of those who travel, but also those of their families”. According to the official, the program has allowed hundreds of salvadorans to access formal jobs abroad, contributing to the economic development of their homes.

Over the past few months, the Ministry has negotiated agreements with different countries and companies to expand the program. “We are working in many places and little by little we are achieving it, thank God”, said Castro. The goal is to continue opening doors for more salvadorans who are looking for better opportunities outside the country.
Currently, the program already has agreements with the United States and Canada. With the upcoming addition of this new destination in Europe, the employment possibilities for Salvadorans who want to work abroad legally and safely will be expanded.
The official announcement about the European country that will receive the workers will be made in a week. “It is a great blessing to be able to help those who need it most”, concluded the minister.
