Surf City, one of the projects in El Salvador to promote domestic tourism and attract foreign tourists, has been positioned due to the recent business meeting held with salvadoran and costa rican businessmen in Costa Rica.

The meeting is developed with the support of the Ministerio de Turismo de El Salvador (MITUR), which seeks the reactivation of tourism in the country.

The trade mission in Costa Rica is headed by officials of the Corporación Salvadoreña de Turismo and Salvadoran businessmen from the Salvadoran Chamber of Tourism, the Cámara Salvadoreña de Turismo, Asociación Salvadoreña de Turoperadores, Asociación Salvadoreña de Pequeños Hoteles and Asociación Salvadoreña de Hoteles.

"The strategy of Surf City El Salvador is the gateway to the country of the great tours, in a region where today, we are advancing as an emerging destination for attracting tourists and is marking the recovery of tourism in the country", said the minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez.

The minister said that "the leadership in the management of the pandemic has allowed El Salvador to stand out in the region as a biosecure tourist destination. Statistics show that up to july the country has received more than $914 million in foreign exchange, surpassing in advance the projection of $800 million for the end of 2021".

The business conference, in which Costa Rican travel agencies and wholesale tour operators participate, is an opportunity for salvadoran businessmen to promote tourist packages, taking advantage of dates such as september 15 and november 2, to attract tourists and promote the multi-destination between Costa Rica and El Salvador.

After the World Surfing Championship recently held in the country, El Salvador managed to stand out as a reference in the practice of surfing and has established a precedent in the organization of world-class biosafety events.
