81% of salvadorans surveyed to celebrate Mother's Day

The Defensoría del Consumidor presented the results of the survey Habits and consumption preferences of salvadorans on Mother's Day.

The digital survey conducted during the period from april 29 to may 5, 2022, has a universe of 681 consumers surveyed, of which 62% are women, and 38% men. The president of the Defensoría del Consumidor, Ricardo Salazar, when revealing the results of the survey said that 81% of salvadorans will celebrate Mother's Day and will celebrate it with a meal at home (59%).

In a date of high consumption as Mother's Day, consumers reveal among others the following preferences and consumption habits: 47% choose as a gift for mom a cake, roses (34%), clothing (33%), cash (27%), lotions and creams (24) and footwear (22%), and an outing to a restaurant (21%).

Seven out of ten (69%) salvadorans shop in shopping malls, 16% in department stores, 14% in supermarkets, and 14% in markets; 45% shop in e-commerce, 26% in online stores, 16X shop in social networks, and 3% in apps.

45% of salvadorans expect to spend more than US$30 and less than US$60, 25% less than US$30, 16X more than US$60 and less than US$90, and 14% more than US$90.

Seven out of ten consumers (69%) will make their purchases in cash and 30% will pay with credit and debit cards.
