MITUR projects revenues of US$8 million for Surf City ISA World Junior Surfing 2022

The Ministerio de Turismo (MITUR), affirms that thanks to the Surf City El Salvador ISA World Junior Surfing Championship 2022 event along with the next WSL Championship Tour event to be held (June 12-20), and the reception of tourists in the country, they project to obtain US$8 million in income.

After the closing of the Surf City competition, MITUR held a carnival to bid farewell to the more than 400 athletes and mark the closing of this important event.

Throughout this week, more than 40 delegations and more than 400 athletes from around the world competed in this youth surfing tournament, on the Salvadoran beaches of El Sunzal and La Bocana, in the department of La Libertad.

During the development of the carnival there were different activities, such as a show of dancers, batucada, themed characters, food and an artificial light show.

The minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, thanked the athletes who participated in this international competition, the largest in the history of the International Surfing Association (ISA).

With this type of event, the country positions itself among the main tourist destinations, especially for surfing. In an environment where sport, tourism, economy and art converge in all its diversity, evidencing the transformation that El Salvador is experiencing.
