The Instituto Salvadoreño del Seguro Social (ISSS) indicated in its october report that "as of september 2022, 79,160 new workers have been enrolled". These are people who join the formal market for the first time and begin to contribute to social security.

The data is consistent with other economic growth measurements, such as industrial production, the commercialization of salvadoran goods abroad, and an important upturn in strategic sectors such as tourism and energy.

In each of these cases, El Salvador has shown continued progress.

This way, it is possible to know if people have access to sources of income that help them support their household.

The ISSS stated that the activities in which the greatest variation of new workers registered, compared to 2021, are construction, with 65%; special regimes (for example, those who contribute on a voluntary basis and others), with 25%; professional activities and administrative services to companies, with 14%; information and communications, with 11%.
