In the registered data, the decreases in transportation, lodging, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; recreation, culture; miscellaneous goods and services stand out, while restaurant and hotels registered the main increase.

For the fourth month of the current year, a monthly difference of lesser magnitude than that observed during april 2022, where growth was 0.50% (driven by food and non-alcoholic beverages) is observed.

The largest negative monthly variations are mainly observed in: transportation with 0.61% (air tickets), lodging, water, electricity, gas and other fuels with 0.36%, electricity and culture with 0.45% and toothpaste or toilet soap with 0.14%.

Likewise, in april, the five main products that affected the monthly decrease of the Consumer Price Index were: air travel, electricity, güisquil and lemon, these were counteracted by the positive behavior of some products, such as: firewood and ocote, special gasoline, payment for mill services, lunch, regular gasoline.

The accumulated inflation of consumer prices was 0.94%, which is lower than the 1.81 percentage points registered in the same month of last year, when it reached 2.74%.

This behavior has been driven by a lower rate of variation in prices, which contributes to maintain a lower inflation level than the one registered in april 2022.
